In the next 3 months I am moving to the UK and have my two passports and I get to keep my job after the move as I work remote. Also not moving to London looking for homes in the north to be close to family.

You mention wanting to be “close to family”. Worth pointing out that I think this has a very different definition in the UK compared to USA. The online joke about 100 miles being a long way over here is completely true. My wife’s family lives about an hour and a half away, and whenever we visit it’s a “proper” planned trip. We pack bags and stay overnight. I think Americans would drive there and back in a day and think nothing of it.
Discuss with them and see what they say. “How often would you visit if I lived 5/15/50 miles away?”
No matter how many times it’s repeated, this always tickles me a little bit. Your “proper trip” was my daily commute for many years! Meanwhile, my “precious relics from bygone eras” are what you might find at any old jumble sale.
Canada is the same way as the US in that regard. It’s not unreasonable to drive 150km to go to a store. Sure you stick around for a few hours or the whole day, but it is easily a short day trip.
