Imo Thunder has the best design out of every app I tested, but the development is slow. Iirc some moderation actions are still not available.
I then switched to Summit after the dev open sourced it a few years ago. The dev is very active and friendly.
Doesn’t allow third party email clients.
I can recommend Posteo.
