Driving off someone from being online, as a troll, because it gives you a thrill.

This is an awfully specific flex, but it is a flex nonetheless, that people do feel to boast about. Because it’s just another form of a power-trip. Congratulations, you’ve driven away someone who could’ve been a contributory member of a community to make yourself feel better by orchestrating lies, performing witch hunts and huddling with your troll buddies in ways to figure out how to process this.

There’s nothing prideful about this to flex over.

I have a coworker who brags a lot about how much he drinks and how little he sleeps. Unsurprisingly, he’s one of the worst at his job.

The wildest part was learning he was 6 years younger than me. I would have guessed he was 10 years older from how bad he looks.

A lot of them think it’s cool specifically because it annoys other people. It’s antisocial behavior.

“I just tell it like it is.”

Translation: you’re incredibly rude and hide behind “just being honest” so you don’t have to correct your problematic behavior

      “I am just being blunt”

Translation: I’m actually an asshole that hides behind mental health issues to justify my shitty behavior and attitude.

As someone who is fairly physically active, flexes that risk people’s health are especially irritating to me. Training to the point of injury or even through injury is not impressive; it’s stupid.

“I’m a quick thinker”, “I think fast”, “I act before thinking”, and similar.

What the person is actually saying is that they’re OK being a dead weight and a burden to the others, due to their poorly thought actions, because they’re too lazy to think properly on things.

Bad/illegal driving. You contribute to an unreasonably high crash rate to be 2 minutes faster, good job.

I read a job listing recently bragging about the company’s AI usage by saying “One of our engineers hasn’t hand-written a single line of code in 18 months”

    Like okay dude…

It translates to: “One of our engineer has been stealing code from others without attribution, consent and/or compensation, and did license laundering to it, for 18 months”.

Anything related to their genetics (height, skin/hair/eye color, … etc) or inheritance.

Show me something you did, not something you’re born with.

mmmm. I mean most times I see this its in the way I might do it. Conversation is about something that seems bad and you say somewhere that your lucky because your X which is not like the bad thing. too short, too tall, fair skinned, etc.

Making as much noise as possible at every fucking place and every fucking time. Even worse if you are a motorcyclist or a driver of a car, bus, or truck. Or when you’re putting music non stop all day long, even late at night.

That and bragging about using AI. Like, seriously? Are bragging about destroying the world, displacing workers from their labor and stealing other people’s works without attribution, consent, or compensation. Fucking bastard.

I don’t think I have seen someone flex about having driven someone off some platform before honestly. I do block a lot though.

Some people flex with products from giant American companies. Specifically for apps: if their messages are sent in green bubble, some (not all) people will ask arrogantly ask: When you will get an iPhone? Android is for cheap/poor people/kids. Or if you tell them they can find you also on Signal too: When you will get Whatsapp? Signal is for losers/people with no (social) life. I am glad that I don’t use any those 2 apps.

It is interesting how different ppl think depending on groups (and age). Iphone by the ppl I know (25-65) is either forced on you at work or you are tech illiterate and do not care (some even pick it because of the esthetic). What you wrote throws me back to 2010-2014 haha

All the smart ppl I know do not understand iphones which is even funnier when it are supposed to be the easy to understand option. Nowadays do I mostly see only older ladies and some random ppl with iphone, most got Samsung or pixel.
