Every food commercial, advertisement, and packaging in the US is currently protein obsessed. I just bought 3 burritos, and the most noticeable thing on the entire package is its protein content. TV commercials about waffles are advertising that they have X amount of protein per serving. The products in my jobsite’s vending machine have protein all over every package.

Did America have a protein thing recently?

    It’s 1 gram per pound of LEAN body mass not overall body weight

    Just because a person is in good shape doesn’t mean they actually understand what is required to train and it’s very common for top athletes to use a ton of pseudoscience garbage because they want anything that could possibly improve performance

      1lb of LEAN body mass is still a shit ton of protein to have to try and squeeze in. For your average adult man that’s the equivalent of 5-7 scoops of protein powder, or like ~1.5lb of chicken breast, every single day.

      You’re not getting that unless you’re going out of your way to.
