The average CEO of the US’s 100 largest, lowest-paying corporations earned 614 times more than their average worker last year, according to an analysis by the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS).
IPS’s latest executive excess report analyzed compensation at the 100 S&P 500 corporations with the lowest median worker pay. Between 2019 and 2025, CEO compensation increased 41.4%, unadjusted for inflation, twice as much as the median worker pay increased at these firms during the same period, at 20.7%.
Inflation also outpaced worker pay increases, rising by 25.9%.
The CEO-to-worker pay ratio at the low-wage 100 firms increased 8.4% between 2019 and 2025.

This has to end, nobody is worth that much. Even if they were, they shouldn’t have that much, because nobody needs that much.
Billionaires are a symptom of a society that is sick.
If there were no poor people, it would be more acceptable. But it will never be reasonable that some people make hundreds of times what other make on a full time job.
Almost none of these CEOs are billionaires though.
That’s not taking their portfolio into account. A lot of CEO compensation isn’t in cash. Bezos only had like an $80k salary as CEO of Amazon.
Also:
The wealth of the owners of the companies, sure.
Like they explicitly mention Walmart. The Waltons don’t hold any executive positions at Walmart anymore. There’s a couple on the board of directors, but largely they just hold onto their stock.
The CEO is a guy that started as an hourly employee in 1993, and his total compensation, including non-salary compensation and stock, is $29M.
And yes, the article does take their total compensation into account. That’s stated in the report the article talks about.
The average total CEO compensation of these 100 firms is $17M. That includes stock options and other perks.
I just saw some other propaganda saying how Walmart house brands are directly competing now and are actually good because the grandkids are involved with the company at the product level. Lol the Walton’s don’t make any decisions when it’s convenient and the Walton’s are directly involved when convenient. Since I have no real way to confirm because at this point it takes literally seeing it with my own fucking eyes over and over and over for that i can’t believe anything any of you say. Fuck this world. Fuck the Walton’s and their stupid fucking kids. Fuck the ceo of Walmart. 17 million is still too much.
You can live a comfortable life with $5 million in the bank. No one needs $17m a year.
That’s irrelevant to the comment about billionaires.
The sequence as I understand it is
If anything, you pointing out that the CEOs aren’t billionaires is a distraction from the point.
No, that’s just moving the goalposts.
“Nobody should have a billion dollars”
“These CEOs don’t”
“Well they still make too much money!”
The initial goal post was “This has to end, nobody is worth that much.”, referring to CEOs making 614 times more than workers. Their wealth being in billions or millions was not mentioned. The goal post was not moved.
The literal next comment is about how billionaires shouldn’t exist, putting a value on the aforementioned “they’re not worth that much”.
You can’t just ignore context to twist things how you want to lmao.
Billionaires are a subcategory of people with too much money.
But also what’s your point here? Just pedentry? Defending CEO wealth at this 614:1 ratio? Defending billionaires right to exist?
Just insufferable.
Who gives a fuck?! Seriously! Who gives a fuck if someone is “moving the goalpost”. Are you having a debate?! Is your argument that this shit is okay? Do you need to come in and shit on everything for any particular reason?! Do you do this to people you know or does no one in real life listen to your annoying ass?
No one is debating you. No one is arguing. People are fucking over it and sometimes they might be hyperbolic or exaggerate or get it not quite right but the point is fucking clear and I refuse to believe you people don’t know this.
Tomato to’mah’to.
