News@lemmy.world•Ilhan Omar to Trump: "You Have Killed Americans"
4·5 days agoYeah, if the rest of the Dems followed Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib’s examples more often over the past few years we probably wouldn’t be here right now

News@lemmy.world•Ilhan Omar to Trump: "You Have Killed Americans"
7·5 days agoIn the Renee Good case, 61% of voters say the shooting was unjustified, while 27% say it was.
In the shooting of Alex Pretti, 65% say the shooting was not justified, while 16% say it was.
As previously reported, the Department of Homeland Security blocked state investigators from the scene of the Pretti shooting and shut them out of the investigation of the Good shooting.
Poll results show that 72% of voters believe the state should be allowed to investigate the shootings independently from the federal government.
https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/kstp-surveyusa-poll-results-most-voters-say-good-pretti-shootings-were-unjustified/ (arc)
Also, same poll elsewhere showed more people concerned about taxes and healthcare than fraud in government spending, so I think the racist bullshit machines are losing their effectiveness as affordability becomes as undeniable as the murders of Pretti and Good are.

News@lemmy.world•At least 3 major outlets — The New York Times, The Guardian, and Reddit — have blocked the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine from accessing their content
4·6 days agoI think auto complete or something might have messed with what you intended to post, that link still hits the paywall for me, but using your guidance I was eventually able to figure out that
nytimes.com./2026 etc.
works in a Chrome incognito window. The “.” after “com” and the “/” after that “.” are apparently the critical bits

8·6 days agoAh, https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/04/us/politics/supreme-court-california-congressional-map.html won’t work on my usual browser (which just ends up loading NYTs homepage) but it does work in a Chrome incognito window
Thank you!

News@lemmy.world•Justice Department withheld and removed some Epstein files related to Trump
3·6 days agoYeah, I really can’t overemphasize how much of a petty insecure asshole the character who said it was, but the delivery of it is hilarious
Also, as someone who’s watched it, I have some mixed feelings about some of the narrative choices and implied messages in that show, but it really is a master course on dissecting the hypocritical and superficial psychology of mobsters, which I feel like this administration and all of its goons demonstrate constantly

News@lemmy.world•Justice Department withheld and removed some Epstein files related to Trump
489·6 days agoAt the risk of quoting Junior Soprano, no you didn’t know it, they just told you
NPR reviewed multiple sets of unique serial numbers appearing before and after the pages in question, stamped onto documents in the Epstein files database, FBI case records, emails and discovery document logs in the latest tranche of documents published at the end of January. NPR’s investigation found dozens of pages that appear to be catalogued by the Justice Department but not shared publicly.
You may know of other investigations showing very similar things but this is new

News@lemmy.world•TrumpRx delayed as senators question if it's a giant scam with Big Pharma
1·1 month agoIt was in keeping with how they totally caved on the actual underlying policy and accepted the GOP’s ideas there too at least

These dumb assholes really thought their dogshit ideas were going to be more successful and popular than this, and now they’re backed into a corner and getting ready to lash out, and they still might get away with it regardless of how goddamn dumb this all is
