Because it’s not the first 99 people that know all about you that are the problem, it’s the 1 in a 100 who are out to grief or scam or steal or coerce.
People love to share about themselves, and that’s fine… unless there’s a malicious actor prompting them to overshare.
People love to gossip about each other, and that’s usually tolerable… until rumor is weaponized.
2·16 hours agoI wanted to go to college far enough away that my parents couldn’t reasonably visit without calling first.
How eusocial they are / how well they fit in society. This is not a moral judgement, for me, just an assessment of how adept they are at being a person.
I’d use a different search engine… and the rest of those I don’t use now. That’s not the Internet to me. I read webcomics and blogs, check fora, and play online games. I go directly to the websites I want, or I use RSS to get there from my aggregator. Hell, I still use webrings.
It already is considered skilled labor.
