I can see a possible holding of Tehran and air space above Iran but as a way to affect change it won’t happen, they can just move the government until gorillas activity forces the US to leave.

Iran has three major advantages in this war:

1. Iran controls the oil supply line for most of the western world we are already seeing impacts on the world economy via the straits.

2. The US is supplying itself and Israel many of the heavy munitions currently being used, these are a finite resource it simply has to wait out even if it takes weeks.

3. Regime change in Iran will only be forced by a ground invasion, that’s bad on so many levels the US has no appetite for another Iraq or Afghanistan.

So for Iran they can keep bombing neighbours force the financial issues and wait out the resources to dwindle.

Yes they will largely be in ruins but for those in power it’s acceptable losses.
