For some reason your post reminded me of when I got my first flip phone and I hadn’t had a designated pocket for it.

Phone, left front. Wallet (including work fob) and key in right front; small flashlight and chapstick in the coin pocket; pen clipped to back right pocket.

Plus I guess not technically in my pocket, but I’ve been front horizontal carrying a leatherman (or sometimes a fixed blade with a pry bar clipped to it).

Damn, sorry. I was in a restaurant trying to settle a bet. I didn’t have chance to look back at the posts.

      I’m prepared for my lashings.

Left front phone. Right front knife or multitool. Coin pocket zippo. Rear right wallet, rear left key fob. On the occasion I have my keys me, they’re on a short leather strap clipped to my belt loop in my right front.

Due to my job, all my jackets have a millimeter ruler and a staedler 319f marker in the front pocket, and my left inside pocket has a fountain pen with blue ink, and a pilot gtec C4 with black ink. Right Inside pocket has a hairtie, toothpicks, and a carved jade turtle figurine (skjoldpada).

I don’t always carry all of this, but this is fully-loaded:

    • Right pocket: phone
    • Left pocket: beeswax lip balm, contact lens drops, vehicle keys
    • Right side pocket: work keys, microfiber cloth
    • Left side pocket: work phone, device failure “toe tags”
    • Belt: work ID/access badge
    • Right extra pocket: bit-driver with 8 bits
    • Right rear: wallet
    • Left rear: needlenose pliers
    • Clipped to lapel: micro Phillips/flathead screwdriver, pen
    • Shoulder: laptop bag with cables
    • Right ear: Bluetooth earpiece

I’m pretty happy with this setup for most of my workday…

    Ctrl + F. “Knife.” Only 5 results.

Keys front right, wallet rear right, phone rear left. That’s all I carry.

Front left is for anything miscellaneous I pick up during the day, if I do.

Before I retired, I also carried a pen, and a leatherman tool, but I don’t need those anymore.
