Exactly, which is why America should be sanctioned out of existence and balkanized so it can’t do any more harm to the rest of us, right?

You’ve made a massive rhetorical blunder here, friend.

Your comment here in context clearly means “Europe shouldn’t buy heating fuel from America, just like it shouldn’t buy from Russia”. But 6 hours ago, here, you said the opposite, that if Europe must buy fuel (and indeed it must, I hope we all agree), then they should get it from America in preference to Russia

Edit: oh, actually, what might have happened is that you changed your mind in the intervening upon learning new information! That is admirable and I withdraw my comment if it’s the case. (Although from a rhetoric standpoint, mentioning you’ve changed your opinion would probably be a good idea)

They were supplying fuel just fine, and what’s more it was in their interest not to mess with supplying it; that’s why inevitably it was a different country that destroyed the pipeline.

Also Europe gets its valuable resources from many non-democratic African countries; why not start there by no longer accepting resources from them? It has the added benefit of also no longer offering exploitatively low payment for them, so win-win.

the russians were delivering gas and oil extremely reliably. hell, they’re still delivering it, while european countries are sending arms to ukraine with which to shoot russia.

meanwhile, the US deliberately sabotaged the energy security of europe. and here you are, saying it’s the russians who are unreliable partners. there’s no hope for you.

I don’t rely on natural gas in my day-to-day life

Oh, did Germany switch to manufacturing things and heating houses using fae magic while I wasn’t looking? Good for them.

nord stream isnt the only pipeline. please hide your ignorance a bit better, this is embarrassing.

also, amazing. so now you’re excusing a violent foreign entity bombing domestic infrastructure in the EU in order to wreck the EU industry and make it entirely reliant on said violent entity for energy. this is a good thing for europe, somehow.

            this level of mental vassalization…

they show that it isnt russia that’s unreliable, since they’re still sending gas through the remaining pipes, as long as there’s a buyer in the EU. do try to keep up and stop moving the goalposts.

you cant put uranium in a natural gas power plant, you do understand that, right? you also cant materialize nuclear power plants in seconds. people need to cook and heat their homes and run their factories while the EU rebuilds its energy grid so it’s not reliant on gas.

ok, but the EU is still using gas, but now it’s more expensive and from a less reliable partner.

the EU has had soooo much time to go off gas and it’s done fuck all about it, before the war and since.
