Every food commercial, advertisement, and packaging in the US is currently protein obsessed. I just bought 3 burritos, and the most noticeable thing on the entire package is its protein content. TV commercials about waffles are advertising that they have X amount of protein per serving. The products in my jobsite’s vending machine have protein all over every package.
Did America have a protein thing recently?
They’re are, not synthetic, but kinda, fiber that is starting to being used as ingredient that can be easily added to processed food.
Yep. Jars of fibre! It’s a horrifying corporate grift, but it’s also great for chronic fatigue perverts like me who cannot spend much energy on cooking most of the time. It does help.

No judgement. I just know that is the upcoming trend because my wife works in the food industry and she used to do a lot of projects in high protein products and nowadays everything is high fiber products.
