President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday afternoon to change the name of Lake Ontario to “Lake America,” his latest escalation as he engages in a tense trade war with Canada.

“‘Lake of America’ was something I’ve been thinking about for a long time,” Trump said from the Oval Office. “We have a gulf and we have a lake. Now, all we need is an ocean. So, maybe we’ll have to change the name of the Atlantic and/or the Pacific. Maybe we’ll change them both.”

Surrounded by large maps of the Great Lakes, Trump said the name change was “effective immediately,” and that his staff had “filed all the necessary papers, documents, everything else.” A White House aide claimed the lake “has most of its volume in the United States” and that the “deepest parts” are in US territory.

This is bait. Where are the Epstein Files? Why are we still in a failed elective war with Iran? Why are we having to use buy now, pay later for groceries? Renaming a lake is a distraction.

There’s no way he even knows which of the Great lakes that is. Don’t pay any attention to anything that he says or does. He’s just a demented old rapist.

His executive orders are meaningless to everyone except federal employees. Almost all teachers, almost all law enforcement except ICE and FBI are state employees. So he can executive order himself blue in the face, the citizens can ignore whatever he says. He can shove his executive order straight up his arse.

He’s not a king, he’s an administrator with limited power.

Trump has wide latitude over how the US government refers to geographic landmarks…

This is how it worked for the “Gulf of America,” too. The president can’t force map publishers to use his names. He can only force the career public servants in the federal government to use his names.

Google Maps (to name one of many) changed “Gulf of Mexico” to “Gulf of America” of their own accord. And that will be the case this time, too, if Google follows through.

Honestly I don’t care anymore, the evil guys won. They’re going to enact all of project 2025, it’s too late to stop. The constant barrage of insane demoralizing news has worn me out. Which was part of their goal the entire time. It would be particularly pleasant if someone changed my mind.
