When I was more active on dating sites in my 20s, I encountered a lot of people who held up travel as this big, important thing in their lives. I recall at least one profile where a guy said, “Love of travel is a must.”
At first, I was annoyed - travel takes money and time, which I don’t have. Why limit potential dates in that way?
But then I realized, maybe that’s the point? Someone with the leisure time and spending money can easily filter dates to just those in their socio-economic status by making frequent recreational travel a requirement. My poor ass never had a chance.

Yeah, I stopped taking it in jest the first time fuckhead won. I immediately knew that this, widespread political violence, was the only way the Trump era could possibly go out. When people asked how I felt or what I was thinking post-election, I’d somberly say, “This isn’t going to end peacefully.”
All signs pointed here. It was clear this narcissist cult-leader was leading a movement of violent, hate-filled, devoted followers who were itching to take out their impotent rage on anyone dear leader pointed to. Then it was clear a huge swath of the country saw all of this and thought it worth putting into power. The time to laugh was over the minute that election was called.
