This here is the point most people fail to grasp. The AI was taught by people. And people are wrong a lot of the time. So the AI is more like us than what we think it should be. Right down to it getting the right answer for all the wrong reasons. We should call it human AI. Lol.

It would be idiotic to say “that a nazi government is cool and good”. Which is why I never said that. You are projecting what you want me to say so that you can argue about it. My claim was that there is significant overlap in the tactics used by all functioning governments good or bad including the nazi government. So simply saying that the current US gov is using similar tactics isn’t much of a suprise, nor insult. We should focus on what they are trying to achieve with those tactics. That is where the true evil is. Same as the nazis. They used those tactics to kill people that didn’t look like them, among other evils. If you are done trying to put words in my mouth, you might see we are on the same side. I just dig deeper.

A simple line is if the ad was paid for. So sign twirlers… paid for. Person walking down the street in a brand shirt they paid for is not an ad. Talking about a product… did you get paid, ad. And of course free or discounted services and such equals getting paid. No more free X if you review a place on yelp. And don’t worry about a new garbage service. People will talk even without getti g paid. And I think a carve out for an ad service that people can choose to view as needed. I don’t have ads in my tv viewing. So I intentionally surf trailers once in a while. Much better experience.

Yes. We are paying one way or another. Right now people choose based on free or not. So the “product” that can cram the most ads in and get people to buy ads wins. Not the best product. Make it cost real money, the quality of product will matter more than it does now. Clickbait is a perfect example. If they don’t get paid by the click, it would no longer be the best choice for them. It would end up being word of mouth that drives choice. So meaningful headlines and articles would drive sales again.

Ads are okay if I am asking for them. So you have a dedicated ad search engine. Same rules as today for scams. The place that serves up scams will get that reputation. You could also make the specific engine liable to some degree if you want to curb it, but have to be careful not to create too high a barrier to entry or you will end up with a monopoly.

I’m not saying it’s divisive to say fuck nazis. But calling someone you know almost nothing about a nazi seems a bit extreme. Mostly because the level of willing misinterpretation on here is stupid high. I could say fuck trump, and somehow there will be people who will call me a trump supporter. It boggles the mind.

On the one hand, google is obviously evil, and it’s intentions here are undoubtedly evil as well. On the other, I do think some kind of verification of developers should exist. Just not in google hands. But who. There really isn’t anyway to create an organization that could be trusted to do this. And of course, the user should be able to chose to install apps from an unverified developer.

The real question is… is the poster trying to drive engagement, or division.

I would say you must be a bot. But a bot has better logic processing then you are displaying. Google p -> q != q -> p, or ven diagrams. Because goals include one thing, does not mean it can’t include another that is the opposite morally.

I think “functioning” is able to achieve it’s goals. The word functioning has no moral implications. Money doesn’t magically make an army that wins. That army has a massive logistical need. So it takes a well functioning government to ensure the supplies exist for the army, and that those supplies can get to the army. Just think of countries like hatti. That was not a functioning government. Now there is no government. Lots of countries are constantly having coups and such because they don’t have a functioning government.
