Glad you were covered to get back on your feet.
That all sounds quite complex to navigate. Crazy with all the tech and resources that we have available now and these are the systems that were designed.

Having such a reactionary approach is counterproductive, I agree. I know people for who psychiatric care is not optional, they’re doing fine on the right meds though that requires monthly follow ups. That would cost a fortune! Also not covering physical rehabilitation is confusing as it’s pretty much needed after surgery, how are people supposed to regain as much function as possible?
Our health insurance here costs $600 per person per month but then it covers specialists with a $40 copay, includes vision and dental. Basically if you can afford private insurance it’s manageable but that’s a horrible way to design the system since you often loose your insurance if you change jobs.
I miss the French system, it’s not perfect but it was more affordable and teeth were not considered optional. The main inconvenience that I remember were the wait times so you just have to be organized for your routine care and it’s no problem.

Sorry to hear that. I didn’t realize the Australian healthcare system was as bad as the one in the USA. $500 to see a specialist is not ok, especially not for psychiatry when the medical support is literally life changing.

That article is pretty straightforward. It’s aiming to decrease food waste, increase an in demand food item at food pantries, and presents little risk because bad eggs are easy to identify. All in all it seems like a positive development.

That’s a good way of putting it. It was such a hostile reaction to an innocent parental question like holy Batman.

I’m sure that made her feel much better. Leaking is awkward enough on its own. My husband has also received comments for being progressive at the grocery store because he was buying tampons lol. Hopefully it keeps being normalized. Basically half of humanity experiences it.

I agree with you. There are enough real trans issues out there without picking fights at innocent questions asked in good faith that are completely unrelated. Nowhere was there anything exclusionary in that post. If you look for negativity everywhere you’ll find it but you won’t make any friends and you probably won’t help your cause.

Your first version was funnier for sure xD Your daughter is lucky to have a supportive dad. Thanks for caring.

Bahaha you win ;) As a bleeder, I respect OP for asking for advice in supporting his daughter. A lot of men are weird about it. Only conversation I had with my dad about it was him yelling at me when I accidentally leaked on the mattress as a teenager.

It’s not designed to exclude anyone and certainly not in mean spirit. I think you would be hard pressed to find many trans people who would find this verbiage offensive. It’s literally a parent asking a group how to support their daughter. Why pick fights when none is happening?

Stick some water bottles in the freezer. It’s a great way to cool off your core temperature.

Russian sympathizing article. Not impressed.
Can we add dog barking? I used to have a dog that would get so triggered by it. Really unnecessary. I’ve been joking with my husband that it would be nice if shows had an audio track like they do for different languages but just change the sound mixing and remove the common irritants.
