Why are AI leaders fleeing?

The people loudly departing the biggest AI companies aren't necessarily looking for fatter paychecks or more stock options; they’re worried that AI businesses are putting profits over sanity and safety.

Publicly traded companies are legally required to put profits over sanity, safety, and everything else. It’s a truly insane system we’ve put together for ourselves.

Look up “shareholder primacy”. It’s enshrined in law.

BTW you said Midjourney is a profitable company elsewhere. Can you provide a source?

It literally isn’t. Google shareholder primacy and you’ll notice its a norm, not a law (in the USA).

          You can also Google Midjourney.

            It’s a judicial precedent

Why don’t you show us your Google result that proves Midjourney made of profit?

Holz told The Register in August 2022 that the company was already profitable.

                Is this still the case?
