This was my friend in high school. Once he got old enough to want to do things like make money or purchase a vehicle, it became apparent how badly his parents fucked him over

Not sure, we fell out of touch after graduating. Last I heard he was basically living as though he was a convict, only working jobs under the table for cash, paying for everything with cash, no bank account, etc
That’s terrible. If I had money I’d start some sort of foundation to help people like this caught in this predicament.
It seems to me like the government could just change some rules to fix the issue without people spending any money

I recommend reading the article. You’re not wrong but… I mean he has to deal with all that plus not being able to have a legal job, bank account, health insurance, car, apartment…
Plus some sketchy dude he was illegally subletting from directly stole from him. Like, in a direct way.
