You have to ask for a lawyer and decline to answer questions without one, but then if you answer any other question, be it your name, anything, say anything, they can say you then waived your asserted 5th amendment right you invoked. The system is rigged in their favor, because The Fear they stoked in the crime waves from the late 70s through the 1990s.
