Donald Trump’s lawyers will try to persuade a New York appeals court Thursday to throw out his hush money conviction, two years after it made history.
The conviction, on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to obscure a $130,000 payment to adult film performer Stormy Daniels, continues to nettle Trump enough that he denounced it on social media as recently as September. The president denies any wrongdoing, and he has turned to state and federal courts in hopes of unwinding the verdict.
He is not expected to attend Thursday’s court session.
I cannot fucking wait to learn he’s dead.
Do not forget that it was Judge Juan Merchan who refused to hold Trump accountable for his crimes and convictions. He is personally responsible for this timeline and its horrors.
I’m not sure I’d go that far. I don’t think any of the charges usually carry jail time, mostly just fines (these are white collar crimes, after all, not something dangerous like smoking pot alone in the safety of your own home, for example). If he had done his job, Trump would probably only be slightly poorer and more humiliated.
That being said, a judge who presides over a case where a jury has declared the defendant unequivocally guilty and essentially says, “yes, the people have spoken and declared this person guilty, but I’m going over their heads and letting them get off scott free” has no place in this or any other justice system and in my opinion should be barred from ever acting as judge again.
Would be nice if appeals court says WTF why didn’t he get punished for all these felonies? And gives him some.

While pursuing his state appeal, Trump also has been trying to shift the case to federal court and have it dismissed on immunity grounds. A federal judge said no — for the third time — in August. Trump’s attorneys are appealing that decision, and arguments on that appeal are set for Nov. 16.
Third time? When the fuck will they say no for the last time? How many times can one appeal the same ruling before a judge can say knock it the fuck off, you lost?
